Ajman, United Arab Emirates – May 19, 2024 – Ajman Municipality and Planning Department (AMPD) has been honored with the prestigious 2024 Excellence in Innovation Award by the Global Excellence Assembly (GEA). This award recognizes AMPD’s groundbreaking Virtual Asset Counting project, a pioneering initiative that leverages 3D technology and artificial intelligence to revolutionize asset management in government entities.

The Global Excellence Assembly Awards celebrate outstanding achievements in innovation and leadership across various sectors. The AMPD’s Virtual Asset Counting project stood out for its innovative use of advanced technologies to create an integrated record of over 33,000 assets. This system significantly enhances the efficiency and accuracy of asset management, setting a new benchmark for government entities in the UAE.

The system’s ability to streamline asset management processes has led to improved service delivery to the public and other government departments.

Future Plans: AMPD plans to further enhance the system by integrating it with cost accounting systems for quicker analysis of asset details. There are also plans to incorporate real-time location tracking for assets, ensuring continuous improvement and adaptation to new technologies.
