Her journey began in law school, where she pursued her passion for defending human rights. Her thirst for knowledge led her to explore laws, politics, and international affairs, and she embraced the opportunity to major in English literature and Russian language.

However, life took an unexpected turn during her first year when the Beirut explosion struck. Amidst the chaos and heartbreak, Marina found hope and purpose. She founded Medonations, a personal initiative that quickly evolved into a global NGO. In the midst of founding an NGO and studying for law exams, Marina discovered a profound love for medicine. She dedicated herself to studying medications and treatments, further expanding her knowledge and skills.

Despite the challenges of balancing triple majors, leading an NGO, and teaching, Marina refused to surrender. Her unwavering determination saw her embrace each commitment, striving for success in every endeavor.

Marina El Khawand truly embodies the spirit of the 'Women of Influence Award'. Her tireless efforts to provide medical assistance to those in need, her commitment to education, and her resilience in the face of adversity are truly inspiring. Marina's work continues to inspire and make a difference in the lives of many, embodying the true spirit of humanitarian service and the power of resilience.
